This is the cheapest I could find, but still it's a little expensive for my blood. Greetings, Microsoft is going to quit supporting windows xp I hear next year. Also this is the old edition.
I would only buy this on a limited budget. Generally speaking, to get the best performance from any operating system a clean install of a full version is recommended. The best choice is to choose a full version of the product and enjoy the benefits of not being left with artifacts and leftover's of your previous operating system which can lead to instability in certain cases.
It is solid as a concrete highway without fast running water under it (in other-words, it does have its vulnerabilities), but far better than any other windows product out there. As much as I like Vista, and I do have Vista-64 on my media computer, I still like using XP-Pro on my work computer.
Don't buy anything from these people. The version of the software was an OEM version that was only valid when installed on a new computer direct from the manufacturer. It required a volume licensing agreement which a stand alone user would not have.Apparently this company was trying to pull a fast one.
If you are running Home Edition, I would recommend upgrading to XP Pro, if you can afford it. Review not necessary, outstanding product.
